Coaching For Change

At the end of the summer of 2016, the Metta homestead hosted the international Coaching for Change training, organized by the professional research institute Ribalon from Medvod. The project brought together 22 participants from 11 countries and was led by 4 professional facilitators with international experience. The training was aimed especially at youth workers who work with young people with fewer opportunities. We learned about Brief Coaching or "solution-oriented coaching", a scientifically proven highly effective and individual-oriented approach for achieving the desired changes/goals. It is an established modern approach that improves the lives, functioning and behavior of people all over the world, because instead of focusing on the problem we face, we focus on its solution. It offers a person a way to overcome a limiting situation in order to live a better, creative and happy life. The training offered the participants effective strategies and tools that help to make the desired changes in a simple way. Through coaching skills and leading conversations that empower young people, they will now be able to help young people experience success, become more confident, more responsible and want to achieve more for themselves and the community in the future. Participants and trainers from Belgium, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Spain took part in the project.
